Thanks Keith for these questions about "fit." I have noticed that it is common for people seeking direction to ask "where are the needs?" and then focus on meeting them. Which often results in well intentioned people in the wrong place doing the wrong things.
As coaches we need to help people ask the right questions, the ones you mention are some of the most important ones.
A great book related to discovering ones "fit" is: Success Built to Last: Creating a Life that Matters
Hi Keith, Since we talked together, I've pursued with more intentionalness this principle of helping people find their nitch. It is interesting how in the coaching process people discover that where they are most comfortable and probably most effective may be too risky. So my job then becomes helping them feel enough "itch" to feel fulfillment in Christ's call that they finally take the risky step. Good thoughts. Paul KEIDEL (France)
Keith:
Very helpful sequence of questions. Helping people find their "Fit" or role alignment is probably what I now do the most of. I estimate 50% of missionaries and pastors are in the wrong role. Anything you can continue to do to keep coaches coming alongside leaders to help them find "fit" is a relational stewardship priority. Good on ya!
